In the previous episode, The Vampire Diaries Season 2 Episode 17 “Know Thy Enemy”, Caroline discovers a new tactic to get the attention of Matt after being bothered with their ended relationship. Alaric reveals some amazing but alarming information to Jenna, and Katherine makes a different kind of confession to Damon. Stefan and Bonnie try to convince Jonas and Luka that they should all be working hand in hand, with unity, but since Jonas lacks interest about being united it lead to a violent and intense confrontation.
